In our forth and final part of our series for our journey towards our January 17th-20th virtual evening retreat, "Awaken the Light Within You," we look at what it means to have a noble spirit, and its connection with the element of fire.
Day 1: Strong Mind/Air
Day 2: Brave Heart/Water
Day 3: Wise Body/Earth
Day 4: Noble Spirit/Fire
When you think of fire, all you need to do is look up and see the sun (not directly of course!). This ball of fire is our greatest source of energy. When the sun casts its light, the earth is nourished, plants grow, water sparkles, everything glows.
There is also a fire that burns deep within you. It is your light. The burning ember that illuminates your brilliance and can bring the best out of others. This is your Noble Spirit.
Your Noble Spirit is the part of you that reaches beyond your needs and gives to others for the greater good. The part that wants to make the world a better place, not just for you, but for the world around you.
And if you don't know yet what the greater good means to you, start with your health. Studies show that giving actually helps to improve a number physical and mental health challenges including:
Lower blood pressure
Lower stress levels
Greater happiness and satisfaction
So many people, including those in our own inner circles, are suffering. It's been a trying couple of years to say the least, and while the pandemic continues to create fear and uncertainty in our homes, communities and around the world, there is no better time than now to reach beyond our man-made fences and shine our light to those in need.
Noble Spirit + Fire Practice - The 2022 Challenge
For your 4th and final practice, continue with your Strong Mind, Brave Heart, and Wise Body practices, and then challenge yourself to give one compliment to one person every day for all of 2022, even someone you don't like! Notice how you feel afterwards. Notice how the other person reacts. If you share space such as in an office or at home, notice how the other person acts towards others. Your kind words could create a ripple effect and light the Noble Spirit in others. That's how we change the world for the better...one person at a time.
